Latest news on the 2018 Twentieth Anniversary ride


We’ve had some great feedback to the news that Mike Tomalaris is joining us as ambassador and rider for the twentieth anniversary ride to Surfers – both on social media and direct to us.

Mike’s involvement promises to make the twentieth anniversary ride something special! Mike will be riding with our packs every day of the tour; he’ll be sharing the fun, the laughs and maybe a little pain. He’ll share in the camaraderie at meal times and be speaking with us to share some of his memories and experiences from a long career in the sport we love.Mike will host the final dinner at the Watermark Gold Coast Resort and (schedules permitting) join us in Engadine for the Presentation Dinner in June 2018.

There’s only a few days left now for riders to register and lock in their FREE ride kit comprising the ride jersey and knicks! If you’re still considering your options, now’s the time to make the commitment and register for the ride before 1 March when orders for the FREE ride kit close.

Joining on your own is a great way to make new friends or why not share our website and facebook page with some of your cycling buddies and do it together.

We know that Mike has been out riding with our friends at Two Monkeys Cycling to get himself ready for the ride – don’t forget if you decide to join us, there’s training tips on our website to help you with your preparation for the event.

Our team of volunteers are an important part of the success of the Sydney to Surfers Ride. At this stage, our catering team is complete and ready to supply you with morning tea and lunch each day of the ride but we still need a few people who can help as drivers for pack support vehicles, luggage trucks and courtesy buses.

If you are unable to ride this year, perhaps you may like to come along as a volunteer instead – it’s a fun and rewarding experience and an opportunity to make new friends and support a great charity. If you can help, we’d love to hear from you! Please contact us for more information.
